Merdeka.com – Korlantas Polri and the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) extended the rules for limiting the transportation of goods during the return flow of the 2023 Eid.

Initially, the restriction on the return flow of goods was in the period April 26 – 28 2023. Now it has been extended to May 2 2023.

“This rule applies to certain agreed sections, while the previous SKB on April 29 to May 2 will still apply nationally,” said Director General of Hubdat of the Ministry of Transportation Inspector General of Police Hendro Sugiatno in a statement, Wednesday (26/4).

The existence of the SKB also continues the restrictions on goods transport vehicles. Where the SKB had previously regulated the existence of two waves of first bans April 24 – April 26 for homecoming and April 29 – May 2 when returning home.

Not only the extension of time, restrictions on the transportation of goods were also expanded in location. Starting from the highway to the arteries. Like a toll road Jakarta-Banten, Jakarta-West Java, West Java toll roads, West Java – Central Java, and Central Java toll roads. Until, this also applies to non-toll roads or arteries around Jakarta, Banten, West Java and Central Java.

“The impact is that if there are no restrictions on goods on the return and return flows there will be congestion on toll roads and arteries, therefore there are new restrictions on April 26-28 2023,” said Hendro.

Meanwhile, Kakorlantas Polri Inspector General Pol Firman Shantyabudi and his staff will act humanely. If goods vehicles are still being observed crossing the toll road, they will be issued at the nearest toll exit.

“This is done to reduce the burden on the toll road,” said Kakorlantas.

Traffic engineering that has been implemented, such as one way and contraflow, is currently still closely monitored.

“If we don’t limit the transportation of goods, we can imagine how the volume of vehicles will be, both on toll roads and arteries during the homecoming and return traffic. Therefore, for those who haven’t returned, walk according to the vehicle plates,” he said.

“We don’t expect the implementation of gage to be carried out, but with the contribution of gage and freight transportation, hopefully we can still keep the wheel traffic ratio rolling and travelers can get home safely,” added Firman.

It is known, the arrangement for operational restrictions on the transportation of goods is enforced on toll roads and non-toll roads with the provision that the traffic control time for period 1 reverse flow applies from Monday (24/4) at 00.00 WIB to Wednesday (26/4) at 08.00 WIB. Period 2 of reverse flow applies from Saturday (29/4) at 00.00 WIB to Tuesday (2/5) at 08.00 WIB.
