For the second time, Turkish scientists have discovered two new planets

Turkish scientists at the Universities of Ankara and Istanbul announced that they have discovered two planets that are 1,336 light-years away from Earth.

This came as a result of a scientific project carried out by Turkish academics specializing in space science at the two universities, and the results of the scientific discovery were published in an international journal.

Thus, Turkish scientists have discovered for the second time new planets in space.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency, Prof. Dr. Selim Osman Salam, one of the participants in the discovery, said that the announcement of the discovery of the two planets was preceded by a deep analysis and treatment of the data available as a result of space observation.

He added that the two newly discovered planets are located within the binary star system “Kepler 451”, indicating that they are 1336 light-years away from Earth.

He explained that one of the two planets is 1.5 times the size of Jupiter, while the other planet is twice the size of Jupiter.

Salam pointed out that the chances of life on these two planets are non-existent, as they are giant gaseous planets.
