Paris Saint-Germain announced on Monday that its striker, Lionel Messi, will not participate in the French team’s match once morest Benfica in the Champions League on Tuesday, because he has not recovered from a calf injury.
Messi missed the draw with Stade Reims in the French league last Saturday, as the Parisian team failed to score in the league for the first time this season.
The 35-year-old asked to be substituted during the second half of Benfica’s match once morest Portugal in the third round of the group stage last week due to a calf injury.
Also absent from tomorrow’s match will be Prisnel Kimpembe, Nuno Mendes and Renato Sanchez.
Saint-Germain leads Group H with 7 points from 3 matches, equal with Benfica, while Juventus are 4 points behind in third place.
