The attention of the domestic political scene is on the SYRIZA Congress following yesterday’s rapid developments, which were triggered by the resounding intervention of Alexis Tsipras, with Stefanos Kasselakis announcing new elections to elect the president of the party.
And while the work of the SYRIZA conference is in progress, the machines are working at full speed in both camps.
In the camp of Stefanos Kasselakis, the meetings are permanent regarding when the elections will be held and which executives will come forward in the pre-election fight.
At Olga Gerovasili’s camp, appointments follow one another. Ms. Gerovasili already saw Dionysis Tebonera who did not announce his candidacy and Thanasis Theocharopoulos, Sokratis Famellos, Yiannis Ragousis and many MPs.
After the appointment with Olga Gerovasilis, the appointment of Dionysis Tebonera was awaited with interest, who from the stage of the congress left many points once morest Stefanos Kasselakis and ultimately did not announce his candidacy for the presidency of the party. This was also his answer to the question posed to him as revealed by newsit.gr by Olga Gerovasili, who will announce her candidacy for the Presidency of SYRIZA tomorrow from the stage of the conference. Mrs. Gerovasili also said to Dionysis Tebonera: “Think regarding it and tell me.”
Tebonera’s response came with the non-announcement of his candidacy from the floor of the conference but also with spikes to Stefanos Kasselakis where he said, among other things:
“My own “roots” are solid and timeless. They don’t need confirmation. In life we have learned to fight for our ideas and principles by looking people in the face. Whatever we have to say, we say it with a clean face. Although we were offered chairs and offices, we never claimed them. We don’t even need them because we fight our battles with selflessness and self-sacrifice without asking for a share, within society. We always gladly offer our “I” to the great “We”, we offer it to this great cause of the Left, which stands above positions and positions. We fell into the battle between the first and second elections, in the front line when everything was overshadowed by the awesomeness, and we took the responsibility. We are not all the same. We come from the bowels of Greek society, from the public school and university, from the daily struggle at work, in the midst of deprivation and injustice, but we have learned throughout our lives to defend the rights of the people. We serve the cause of the Left in an organized manner and will continue to do so as ordinary soldiers, inspired by the great cause. We have nothing to prove to anyone. We are not afraid and we do not back down because we are leftists and leftists learn in their lives from a young age not to be afraid. After all, we learned it earlier than the others. We absolutely respect the will of party members and friends, without “chasing chimeras”. We have no political insecurities and we are full of love for our fellow man and already very rich from the experiences of the struggle. But we learned to participate and not to authorize. I see in front of me comrades and not rivals. My opponent is only the problems of the world. I understand my role in History, as a small, minimal link that will bring closer the dream of a society of solidarity and social justice. Our country and people do not need any more divisions. We invite people in, we don’t push them away. We need addition to win, not subtraction. We need collectiveness, camaraderie, selflessness and willingness to give. The Left does not produce messiahs and heroes. produces social role models. We have a duty to keep this cause alive. If it is necessary for this case to move forward, we have to do something for the common good, we will do it with pleasure because this is how we grew up.”
The first positions of the second day were made by Marilisa Xenogiannakopoulou, Rena Dourou, Nikos Pappas and Giorgos Tsipras who presented the positions of SYRIZA, while from 12:25 the positions of the delegates started.
It is noted that the polls for the internal party elections are expected to be held within the next twenty days.
In fact, as Mr. Kasselakis is going to report to the army on March 11, the polls should be set up by the 10th of the month.
Unless he gets a reprieve and doesn’t report to the army in March.
