ACTRESS Sahila Hisyam said that to understand her role as an archaeologist named Mayang in the film Pusaka, she watched a series with an archaeology theme as a reference for her character.
“I am one of those who are confused regarding what to do if I find an heirloom, how to hold it, I watched a series that tells regarding human civilization in Egypt, there were many archaeologists there, many objects were found,” said Sahila, quoted Sunday (7/7).
Sahila also felt helped by the support of director Rizal Mantovani and the acting coach who helped her in exploring the role of an archaeologist.
Sahila admitted that it was her first time playing a smart girl character who works as an archaeologist. That made her consult a lot and prepare on set before filming to build the character.

Apart from playing the role of an archaeologist, in the gore horror film, Sahila also had to play several action scenes with certain choreography which made it quite difficult for her.
“I had difficulties at the beginning, more with the choreography. For Susan, Bukie, and Ajil, they had choreography training because there were a lot of action scenes, for me there weren’t many action scenes but it was something new,” said the 32-year-old actress.
Despite some difficulties, Sahila felt interested in playing in this film because the scenario she thought was very exciting and intense from the beginning to the end of the scene. She was also excited because she was directed directly by director Rizal Mantovani.

“Actually, I’ve played in horror movies several times but they haven’t aired yet, but Pusaka itself is really exciting from the script from the beginning to the end, it’s really intense, so you can imagine it would be really exciting during filming,” he said.
Regarding the compatibility between the cast in the film Pusaka, Sahila said that each cast member blended in very easily and there were no boundaries between them.
That was also Sahila’s consideration in joining this film. In the future, she wants to play once more in a film of the same genre but with a psychopathic character.

Pusaka tells the story of a house belonging to Randi Wisangko’s father (Bukie B Mansyur) which has many heirlooms in it.
Mayang (Sahila Hisyam) acts as an archaeologist who analyzes the heirloom which ultimately causes problems for those who are connected to the object.
Pusaka will be showing in cinemas starting July 18, 2024. (Ant/Z-1)
