A first in the history of the Accenture consulting firm. The 2,000 employees of the French subsidiary will go on strike this Thursday. They denounce management’s refusal to grant them general salary increases. Despite the social benefits offered by the company, such as the four-day week for example, the crux of the matter remains money. “And especially in times of inflation”, underline the unions.

The company’s good results highlighted

In IT professions, they denounce remuneration levels that are still too low compared to the competition. But they also highlight the economic health of the group. If Accenture has revised downwards its “World” forecasts for next year, for Younès Zoerkarni, central union delegate of the CGT, the company has the means to increase salaries. “When we see the financial results generated by Accenture, all the lights are green. It is abnormal that employees cannot benefit from them. We are asking for salary increases at least up to current inflation,” explains- he.

And these demands are also shared by the group’s consultants. They will, in turn, strike on October 13. Among them, Isaac* (first name has been changed), who has worked at Accenture for more than two years. He receives nearly 45,000 euros gross per year. High remuneration, but which has hardly changed since his last promotion. “Despite the advantage of teleworking, which is a good advantage, it must not be denied, for me, the main criterion remains remuneration,” he notes.

“At Accenture we advocate a form of meritocracy, every year, you will be rewarded. So if we don’t give a raise, I find that this promise is not kept,” adds the consultant. If management doesn’t make a move on salaries, Isaac could leave the company. Contacted by Europe 1, Accenture management did not wish to comment on this unprecedented strike action.
