Fuel prices will rise once more tomorrow for the eighth time this month. A liter of petrol will cost 88 paise and diesel 84 paise. The price hike, which started on March 23, will continue tomorrow. With this, the price of a liter of petrol has gone up by Rs 6 10 paise and diesel by Rs 5 86 paise in a week.
Today, petrol price was hiked by 87 paise per liter and diesel by 74 paise. The government has blamed rising international crude oil prices for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Union ministers say prices will continue to rise.
Meanwhile, the opposition is preparing to protest the continuous rise in fuel prices. Despite repeated rejection of urgent motion notices, the government has said it will hold separate talks on inflation. Members of Kerala and others have been calling for discussion since the conference.
