For men only.. a study confirms the benefits of saffron for mental health

Saffron is gaining wide fame for its many benefits that make it a basic recipe in folk medicine for different cultures, while a recent study indicated a new benefit of saffron on the mental health of men without women.

The British newspaper, Express, quoted a study published in the International Sports Nutrition Journal, that a team fed a sample of people 28 milligrams of saffron extracted from saffron on a daily basis for a month and a half.

And the team monitored the presence of a diversity in the heart rates of men during exercise, which reflects a decrease in their anxiety, while these effects did not appear on women.

Alberto Espanyol, one of the authors of the study from the Farm Active team suggested that saffron has the ability to interact with the contents of the intestine, which in turn affects the nervous system.

Previous studies indicated that saffron contains antioxidants useful for mental health, while another previous research reported the effectiveness of saffron in reducing appetite in women, which makes it useful during diets.
