“Celebrating 400 years gives us incredible strength to prepare for the future. We wanted to celebrate this anniversary by highlighting the present and projecting ourselves into the future”, explains Xavier Gajey, CEO of the Pochet Group.

Expert in multi-materials by the alliance of its know-how in glass, plastic, metal, finishing and beauty accessories, Ie Groupe Pochet employs today 3,700 employees on three continentswith the ambition of combining sustainability and luxury packaging.

Decarbonization and control of consumption

The group began last year the electrification of one of its ovens dedicated to luxury bottling in the historic factory of Pochet du Courval, in Guimerville. Scheduled for the end of 2024, this change in technology is part of the company’s global decarbonization plan, which aims to reduce its CO2 emissions by 50% by 2033.

To meet this objective, the Pochet Group has also teamed up with Maison Chanel and the French cleantech company Metron to set up in all of its factories – in particular on the site of the Pochet glass factory in Courval in Guimerville – a digital tool for measuring all of its energy consumption in real time.

The Metron tool enables the management of all energy consumption at the Guimerville plant, with the establishment of a consumption standard per item and per production line. According to Pochet, this tool has already enabled a 27% gain in the gas consumption of its annealing arches since October 2022.

Magnets recycled and made in France

The Pochet Group has also been committed for 18 months to a partnership with the French start-up MagREEsource to offer its customers recycled magnets made in France.

MagREEsource develops an innovative technology to recycle magnets sourced in France from the dismantling of wind turbines or electric motors. The Pochet Group intends in particular to integrate these responsible magnets into the caps of perfumes.

“This innovation will in particular make it possible to divide the carbon footprint of the magnet by 10 compared to a magnet manufactured in Asia”, specifies Nicolas Piffault, CSR Director of the Pochet Group.

After 400 years of existence, Groupe Pochet believes that its future depends on building meaningful partnerships with its entire ecosystem. “We don’t do everything alone, it’s by opening up to the world that the group will continue its transformation,” concludes Xavier Gajey.
