for Diani, “the point of no return” has been reached between Les Bleues and Deacon

“We have reached a point of no return (…). I would speak of a breakup,” said the scorer of Les Bleues in the TF1 broadcast.

The Paris Saint-Germain striker has called for a change of coach, while the future of Deacon should be decided on Thursday by the Executive Committee (Comex) of the French Football Federation (FFF).

“It’s important to have something new, the girls simply can’t take it anymore”, even if “they don’t necessarily express themselves”, added Diani.

She also assured that she had not exchanged with Deacon since she announced her withdrawal from the France team on February 24, like two other executives, captain Wendie Renard and striker Marie-Antoinette Katoto.

“The French Federation must make arrangements, we have raised a cry of alarm”, continued Diani.

She detailed the reproaches leveled at Deacon. “We really lack professionalism, with a fairly small staff (…), it is the coach who decides on her staff”, she said.

“At the start, access to care was almost forbidden (…), you really had to be injured to have the right to a massage as you might have in a club”, continued the Parisian.

Aiming at Deacon without naming her, Diani launched: “we have in front of us a person who is quite closed, who does not want to discuss with his captain”, Wendie Renard.

The top scorer in the French Championship is ready to give up the Women’s World Cup (July 20-August 20) in New Zealand and Australia if there is no change at the head of Les Bleues. “I didn’t want to go there without having the keys in hand to get the trophy, a medal,” said Diani.

Five months before the World Cup in Oceania, the French women’s team is going through the biggest crisis in its history.

In the event of dismissal, several names have come up in discussions and in the press in recent days: Sonia Bompastor (Olympique Lyonnais), Gérard Prêcheur (Paris SG), Sandrine Soubeyrand (Paris FC), Patrice Lair (Bordeaux) or even the former assistant Eric Blahic.
