For a longer life.. it’s dinner time

A recent study found that people who live to the age of 100 follow a diet that, in addition to a healthy lifestyle, helps in extending life without disease, according to Martha Stewart’s website, citing Frontiers in Nutrition.

The study stated that a healthy lifestyle, such as the exercises that a person does daily and the duration of sleep at night at fixed times, can positively affect human health and contribute to prolonging the period he lives without disease.

The results of the study added that there is scientific evidence that those who eat dinner early can live longer without suffering from chronic diseases or old age.

The study focused on one of the blue regions, famous around the world for their aging population, the L’Aquila Province in Abruzzo, Italy, which has a large population of 90-99-year-olds and two hundred 100-year-olds.

In a survey of 68 L’Aquila residents, researchers found that, on average, most of them eat an early dinner, usually around 7:13 p.m. each night.

Low calories

After examining the findings of the survey, the researchers also noted that the research sample followed a reduced-calorie diet for 17.5 hours from the main dinner to lunch the next day.

The researchers revealed that the study participants, in general, consumed large amounts of grains, vegetables, fruits and legumes, compared to small amounts of meat, processed meat and eggs; And less sweets. They also maintained a proper physical activity by practicing farming in their fields.

“Our results support the importance of daily caloric restriction, avoidance of postprandial stress at night, and improved metabolic response, which have been shown to be associated with increased consumption of plant foods and physical activity for longevity,” the researchers added.
