At 4:00 p.m. this Thursday INDEC will release the inflation numbers for June. The Government awaits encouraging data that can help improve the electoral results for the PASO.
In this context, we communicate with Gabriel Caamanoeconomic analyst at Consultora Ledesma, who spoke about the inflationary numbers for June and the country’s economic situation.
June inflation
“We have a number around 7.1% but there are colleagues who have a little more or a little less,” said Caamaño, who later completed: “Seasonal prices played very much in favor of inflation and also the drop in the price of meat.”
“We are still at very high values and core inflation continues to accelerate in the City of Buenos Aires,” shot the interviewee. “Looks like a new floor is being found around 7% and for inflation to accelerate again there must be some shock”.
Dollar rise and stagflation
On the other hand, the analyst spoke about the rise in the dollar blue: “The rise still does not attract my attention, the dollar is behind inflation and also the Government continues to intervene in financial dollars”.
“The economy fell sharply in the last quarter of last year and we are seeing that the margins of companies grow to be able to cover themselves,” explained the expert. “Prices are being distorted and despite this we have very high inflation while in the region there is deflation”, he concluded.
