After two seasons in which they finished in second place in the Premier League, Arsenal set themselves a very clear goal: to climb one more place in the table and return the championship title to North London for the first time since 2004. However, it is possible that despite the fact that the season has started, the Gunners may make further changes to their squad of players.
According to a report in the Brazilian “Bula”, Gabriel Jesus may soon find himself outside the Emirates, when the leading candidate to take him in is none other than Palmeiras – the team where the striker grew up and broke into the world’s consciousness, until he moved to Manchester City at the age of 20.

According to the report, the luxury club from Sao Paulo wants to bring its former star back to its ranks, and the addition of the 27-year-old Jesus could be a big statement of intent ahead of next year’s Club World Cup. Despite this, the player’s contract only ends in 2027, so such a deal could cost quite a bit for the Brazilians – 40 million euros to be exact.
The report also states that Arsenal tried to sell Jesus during last summer’s transfer window, but no move materialized. However, Mikel Arteta clarified that Jesus is still part of the squad and that he is still able to contribute a lot for the Gunners. Since he arrived there two years ago, the Brazilian striker has made 83 appearances in all formats in Arsenal’s uniform, but recently he had to adapt to his position as a player at the end of the rotation of the English runner-up.
