Manchester City’s Norwegian striker Erling Haaland is not on the scoresheet for Saturday’s Premier League matchday 29 clash once morest Liverpool (1:30 p.m.), the club announced on its television channel.
Haaland had withdrawn from Norway’s two Euro 2024 qualifiers once morest Spain and Georgia last week due to a groin injury.
In the absence of the player with 42 goals in 37 matches, all competitions combined, it is the Argentinian Julian Alvarez who will be in the axis of the attack, surrounded by Jack Grealish on the left and Riyad Mahrez on the right.
Mandatory Victory
City, 2nd eight lengths behind Arsenal, must win to stay in the wake of the Gunners who receive Leeds at 4:00 p.m. The defending champions have one game less than the Londoners and have yet to welcome them to the Etihad at the end of the month.
Liverpool, meanwhile, would need success to stay in the hunt for Champions League qualification. Currently 6th, the Reds have seven units less than Tottenham, 4th and last virtual qualifier for the C1, but with two fewer games on the clock than the Spurs.
