Football: Paul Pogba banned for four years for doping

It was last August that Pogba tested positive for testosterone following a Serie A match.

A few months later, the b sample also showed the same result.

Today, several Italian media are reporting that Pogba’s suspension has been set at four years. This stops the Frenchman from all football activity until 2028.

With the punishment, there is a risk that the career is over.

Will appeal

Pogba claims he ingested the substance accidentally and is disappointed with the verdict.

“I am saddened, shocked and devastated. Everything I built up during my playing career has been destroyed. When I am free from restrictions, I will tell the whole truth. I will appeal the verdict to Cas (Court of Arbitration for Sport),” writes Pogba on his Instagram.

Has WC and EC medals

The midfielder has been very injured in recent years but has a long track record, including World Cup gold with France in 2018, European Championship silver in 2016 and four league titles with Italian Juventus.
