After the championship celebration two weeks ago on Milan’s Cathedral Square with his Inter Milan teammates, Marko Arnautovic’s future with the “Nerazzurri” doesn’t look so rosy. According to “Gazzetta dello Sport”, Inter want to invest in young strikers and sell the ÖFB player, whose contract runs until 2025.

But the search for a new club for the now 35-year-old is apparently difficult. “Because of his age and salary, the market for Arnautovic is not enormous,” the paper wrote.

On Inter coach Simone Inzaghi’s wish list is the Icelandic player Albert Gudmundsson, who is under contract with Genoa. French striker George Ilenikhena is an alternative. Bologna’s star player and Stefan Posch’s teammate, the Dutchman Joshua Zirkzee, is also in the master’s sights.

Second title with Inter

Arnautovic moved from Bologna to Inter Milan at the start of the season. This is his second championship title with Inter, having won his first in 2010 at the age of 21. The black and blue team achieved the triple under Jose Mourinho.

In the current season, the ÖFB record national player contributed significantly more to winning the championship than 14 years ago. The often-injured attacker, often referred to as a “joker” by Inzaghi, scored two goals and three assists in 23 appearances in the current championship.
