“Something died inside me!” Robert Lewandowski talks about his complicated situation at Bayern Munich in a podcast and doesn’t mince his words.
For eight years, it seemed like the perfect relationship. Robert Lewandowski (33) and FC Bayern Munich, a success story that has been crowned with a title year after year. But for a few weeks everything has changed. The Polish star striker uses every opportunity to emphasize how quickly he wants to leave Munich. He wants to go to Spain. More precisely to Barcelona.
On Monday, Lewandowski also made an unmistakable statement in a podcast on the Polish sports portal “Onet Sport”. “I just want to leave Bayern Munich. Loyalty and respect are more important than work.” He now hopes to “find a common solution”.
As much as he is open to talks, Lewandowski will hardly change his attitude. Because he makes no secret of how dissatisfied he has become with the German record champions. “Something died in me, I want to leave FC Bayern for more emotions in my life!”
“A contract is a contract!”
Bayern bosses are still firmly convinced that Lewandowski will play for Bayern again next season. This was recently confirmed by club president Herbert Hainer in an interview with “Bild am Sonntag”. In it he pointed out that the striker has a contract until the summer of 2023. “And a contract is a contract!” Honorary President Uli Hoeness and Bayern boss Oliver Kahn have the same opinion: “All I know is that we have the best striker in the world under contract and it should stay that way.”
