The Parisians snatched a point on the lawn of Olympique Lyonnais, Sunday evening (1-1). The Aiglons flew over the debates in Brest (0-3).
Paris SG, decimated by absences, was held in check in Lyon in Ligue 1 (1-1), Sunday for the 20th day of the French Championship, marked by the Covid-19 and the victory of Nice, once more runner-up of the Parisian club in the standings.
For Paris, it’s a sad recovery. At Groupama Stadium and with a decimated workforce – Angel Di Maria positive for Covid-19, Lionel Messi barely recovered from the virus, Neymar injured… – Mauricio Pochettino’s men lacked inspiration.
Two posts
From the 8th minute, Lucas Paqueta opened the scoring, as in the first leg won on the wire by the Parisians (2-1). And as in September, Paris reacted at the end of the meeting, without shining but with forceps, thanks to Thilo Kehrer (76th).
The Parisian leader still relied on Kylian Mbappé, but the PSG handyman was unsuccessful, touching the post twice.
From an accounting standpoint, the series is lackluster: while OL stagnated in 11th place, Paris has a fourth draw in the last five league matches, and its lead is reduced in the lead.
Nice intractable
Indeed, OGC Nice came closer to 11 lengths of the leader, following his victory in Brest (0-3). Nothing disturbed the men of Christophe Galtier in Brittany. Neither the few cases of Covid which affected the workforce, nor the departures for the CAN. Not even the severe exclusion of Morgan Schneiderlin for a strong tackle in the 20th minute.
The Brestois ended the meeting disgusted by Gym goalkeeper Walter Benitez and by the cold realism of the three Côte d’Azur attackers, all scorers. Kasper Dolberg (13th), Andy Delort (79th) and Amine Gouiri (90th + 4) successively scored to bring the total of Nice points to 36.
“Important for dynamics”
“With a lot of courage, self-sacrifice and intelligence, we were able to hold out,” coach Galtier was satisfied. This victory is important for the dynamic, even more when there are so many absentees between the CAN and the Covid. It allows the group to exist. ”
Nice, with Jordan Lotomba throughout the game, regains its second place in Ligue 1, abandoned Friday in favor of Marseille following the Marseille victory in Bordeaux (0-1). OM are passed on goal difference, on a consolidated podium behind Paris SG. A first gap seems to be created with the 4th, Rennes, beaten on the wire Saturday in Lens (1-0) and still blocked at 31 points.
Monaco (7th, 30 points) might have come closer to the top three if they won in Nantes, but the players of the Rock played it cautious for the debut of their new coach, the Belgian Philippe Clement.
Strasbourg without trembling
Deprived of Wissam Ben Yedder, affected by Covid-19, the ASM was clumsy in the face of goal. But the Nantes (9th, 29 pts), who nevertheless remained on three successes in a row in L1, did not settle the sights either. The two teams stagnate in the first half of the table following this scoreless match.
Like Ben Yedder, the 20th day of Ligue 1 is disrupted by the wave of Covid-19 contaminations: three meetings – Lille-Lorient, Angers-Saint-Étienne and Montpellier-Troyes – have been postponed because of clusters detected in the ranks of Lorient, Angers and Troyes. Consequence: Sunday’s multiplex only included two meetings, Clermont-Reims and Metz-Strasbourg.
In addition to a sad 0-0 in the first poster, Strasbourg did not tremble to inflict on the Mosellans, 19th, their 10th setback of the season (2-0). Ludovic Ajorque scored and provided an assist for Jean-Eudes Aholou. Racing is 8th with 29 points.
