Football: IFK Norrköping’s former chairman Peter Hunt has died

IFK Norrköping’s former chairman Peter Hunt has died, his family confirms Norrköping’s newspapersbut does not want to comment.

– I got the message when I was out cycling. Was surprised and very sad, says former Norrköping coach Janne Andersson to SVT Sport.

Hunt was chairman of IFK Norrköping for twelve years before he resigned in 2021 after an infected situation where he had to endure criticism from within the club.

He came to Norrköping when the club raked in the super one and was part of taking “Peking” back to the fine room in the allsvenskan. Once there, it was a success with the European Games and multi-million sales, but the cherry on top was undoubtedly the SM gold in 2015, then together with the Swedish national team’s former national team captain Janne Andersson.

Andersson came to the club close after Hunt and spent five and a half years at the club. During that time, Andersson and Hunt became close friends.

– I got time, he was patient and supportive. We and our wives became good friends and hung out. He came to Norrköping in a situation where the club was threatened with bankruptcy with a big heart, enormous respect for his deed, says Andersson.

After Norrköping, he was active with board assignments in the ice hockey club Vita Hästen. In addition to being involved in the world of sports, he was a successful businessman where he ran the textile group Trading House Scandinavia.
