Football House of Commons: The fight for points starts again

2023-08-17 08:00:00

The wait is finally over. Starting tomorrow, the entire football lower house will be back in championship operation. In a compact season preview, the OÖN look at the leagues in the Innviertel.

District League West
With Lambrecht, Gurten 1b and Natternbach, three strong climbers are coming into the league, who can be expected to play a good role. In addition to runners-up Dorf and third-placed Neumarkt, Senftenbach should also have a say in promotion to the state league following a strong spring. Most recently, the Senftenbacher showed in the Kick-Ass-Summer-League, where they only had to admit defeat in the final of the Andorf state league. Behind them it will probably be tight in the class – as in previous years.

District League South
The two Innviertler clubs from Neuhofen and Hohenzell can be satisfied with the first season following promotion. While Neuhofen, as third-placed, will once more aim for a place in the top field this year, the young Hohenzeller team wants to confirm the good promotion season and have a carefree season. For this you also rely on the previous squad.

1st Class Northwest
There are no clear favorites in what is now a traditionally balanced league. Due to the strong last season, St. Marienkirchen might take on this role. Compared to some other teams in the class, last season’s third-placed team was able to keep its squad together except for two departures. In addition to the two promoted teams from Raab and Schardenberg, the SPG Obernberg/Ort from the 1st class Südwest are new to the league, in which there will once more be many local derbies to be seen.

1st class Southwest
A total of six teams are new to the league. Ranshofen and Lochen come from the district league, with Pattigham/Pramet, Aurolzmünster, Pischelsdorf and St. Pantaleon four climbers from the 2nd class. SV Weng, who fought for the title for a long time last season, has strengthened once more. In the fight for promotion, however, there will also be competition from Palting/Seeham, who, following two third places, are once once more aiming for a place in the top field.

1. Klasse Mittewest
The Union Eberschwang had to accept another league change. After a one-year intermezzo in the 1st class Southwest – in which you played an appealing season for long stretches – you return to the 1st Midwest. The local derby will start on Saturday once morest UFC Peterskirchen/Andrichsfurt/Tumeltsham. Neo-coach Daniel Troppmair’s team was in a relegation battle for a long time last season. This year, however, it should go to higher table realms.

2nd class West
The 2nd class West was shaken up during the last classification. An open race for promotion is therefore to be expected. After Aurolzmunster and Pattigham dominated the league last year, it will be interesting to see which teams will find themselves in the top flight.

2nd Class West North
Eggerding and Wesenufer will aim to be among the top players once more this season. Above all, the Eggerdinger have a squad that is capable of promotion. Relegated Freinberg will also force a place at the top of the table. With St. Agatha there is a strong competitor for the Innviertler teams, who has always been among the top ranked.

2nd Class Southwest
Both Pfaffstätt and Geretsberg want to attack at the front this year. Both clubs have also strengthened accordingly for this project. In addition, with Laab, Hochburg and Handberg, there are also three relegated from the 1st class, who have set themselves the goal of returning sooner rather than later.
