Already in the tenth minute came the first setback for the Blue Stripes. Tokmac Nguen took the back of his thigh following a shot and then had to be replaced.
Oskar Fallenius then scored the lead goal for Djurgården – but then came the next setback.
Goalkeeper Jacob Widell Zetterström tried to box out a ball and hit center back Jacob Une Larsson. Une Larsson received treatment for a long time, and then continued for a few minutes, but he had to be replaced before the half-time break. And minutes later, well into added time, Dino Islamovic equalized following a fine pass by Jacob Trenskow.
Danske Trenskow would also be behind the turnaround in the second half. Jonathan Ring, cup and SM gold winner with Djurgården, received the ball served by Trenskow and then made it 2–1.
– I get a good pass from Trenskow and get a good first touch. But there is a bit of luck there. But such goals are also appreciated!, says Ring in Max.
The loss meant that Djurgården lost in the pursuit of Malmö FF at the top, at the same time that KFF is still in a negative qualifying position.
– I can congratulate you on the victory, they are better than us in the second half. However, I am very disappointed how we let the game go, it is a game that should be dead following a quarter. We burn three clean free-kicks and then we still get the goal. It is nonchalant of us to offer that change, says Djurgården’s coach Thomas Lagerlöf in Max.
