Raced by their rivals Inter Milan, AC Milan players had to win once morest Sassuolo on Sunday to secure Serie A. Their victory (3-0) offered them the championship.
AC Milan won its 19th Italian league title, its first since 2011, by winning Sunday during the final day of Serie A at Sassuolo (3-0) thanks in particular to a double ‘Olivier Giroud.
The Rossoneri dethroned Inter Milan, holders of the title, who had to settle for second place following their victory once morest Sampdoria Genoa (3-0). Olivier Giroud, with a double (17th, 32nd) and Franck Kessié (36th), on three assists from the untenable Rafael Leao, secured the title for Milan, which only needed one point to be crowned.
