Arthritis is a common condition that causes pain and inflammation, which affects millions of people worldwide.

Doctors advise excluding food items that increase pain and arthritis and trigger arthritis from the daily diet.

According to statistical data, 5 out of every 100 people in the world suffer from rheumatoid arthritis, and women are five times more likely to develop this disease than men. Symptoms of the disease increase in the absence of treatment, according to what was reported by “Russia Today”.

And scientists from the George Washington University School of Medicine, in cooperation with experts from the Committee on Responsible Medicine, concluded that pain can be relieved with medication and a correct diet.

The site adds, 44 people with arthritis participated in this study, divided into two groups. The first group ate special foods for 16 weeks. And members of the second group ate foods and nutritional supplements dummy.

And it turns out to researchers, that a healthy diet reduces the number of swollen joints by more than half. The researchers excluded from this diet – meat, fish, citrus fruits, chocolate, nuts and gluten. As for the members of the second group, the number of swollen joints increased.

According to the researchers, the following foods should be excluded from the diet in case of arthritis: milk and fatty dairy products; meat rich in fat; sweets, including honey; nuts; spices; canned food; Alcohol; eggplant; potato; tomatoes; citrus fruits; the salt.
