Convenience of use
As is the case with many Ninja branded products, the Foodi Power Nutri CB350EU makes a very good first impression. The engine block, for example, is dressed in a plastic that seems of quality and its weight (2.48 kg) invites confidence. However, we regret that the bowl (1.44 kg) is also made of plastic, a material that is certainly lighter than glass, but also much less resistant to scratches.
Composed of a wheel with a central button and three keys to the right of it, the control panel seems much less instinctive, at first sight, than a simple single rotary button, such as the one that can be found on the Philips Series 5000 HR3571/90. However, following a few manipulations, we get the hang of it.
In manual mode, the power is adjusted using the wheel before starting the mixing by pressing the start/stop button, in the center of the latter. The user has the possibility to modify the mixing speed during the mixing, by still playing with the wheel. The digital display clearly indicates which power level has been chosen. But the Foodi Power Nutri CB350EU also has an automatic mode that is activated by pressing the iQ/manual button. This time, by turning the dial, you choose a program from the six available (chop, mash, mix, crush, blend, powermix) whose name lights up on the left of the banner. Each of them is characterized by a particular speed of the blades and a duration. There are also phases of mixing and rest. In this mode, the display provides information on the remaining duration of the process.
Finally, Ninja has provided a pulse mode which delivers the maximum power of the engine as long as the pressure on the dedicated button – placed to the right of the wheel, and clearly identified – is maintained.
The Foodi Power Nutri CB350EU bowl can be placed with the handle on the right or on the left; a real plus, because this is not always the case. However, it will be necessary to adapt to the different units of volume (liters or ounces) which are not the same from one side of the container to the other. We also appreciate the lid’s security system, one of the most advanced, which prevents the blades from turning when everything is not in place. With a knife so close to the opening, it’s not a luxury!
The lid has no hole to insert food during mixing. To avoid food splashes, the spout is equipped with a small hatch, which is quite difficult to open.
While most of the plastic containers of the other blenders in our comparison are not removable, that of the Foodi Power Nutri CB350EU allows the blade to be removed for cleaning or replaced by a beater, which extends the versatility of the device. The operation is very simple since all you have to do is pull on the inserted accessory, without any other manipulation, button to press or screw to turn. The other side of the coin, do not forget to remove the accessory plugged in when serving if you remove the lid, otherwise it will fall when the bowl is tilted too much.
In addition to the main bowl and the two mixing accessories, the Foodi Power Nutri CB350EU is delivered with a more traditional block of blades, to be screwed on a 600 ml bottle (also supplied) which resembles that of the so-called “mix & go” mixers “. Note that you just have to replace this knife with a special lid to take your smoothie with you immediately, without having to transfer the drink. A last gourd (400 ml) equipped with the spatula system to be turned by oneself to improve the mixing (Nutri Power system) is delivered, as well as a cleaning brush.
