Food trade fair at “Anuga” in Germany: Better international visibility

The Export Promotion Center invites Tunisian startups and SMEs, operating in the agri-food sector, to present their products in the “NewComer” area of ​​the Tunisian pavilion, within the framework of the unmissable Anuga exhibition in Germany.

The Export Promotion Center (Cepex) offers the opportunity to five startups (and/or SMEs) operating in the agri-food sector to exhibit their products or services in the “NewComer” area of ​​the national pavilion, on the sidelines of Tunisia’s participation in the “Anuga” fair to be held in Cologne in Germany from October 7 to 11, 2023. As part of its strategy to support start-ups and SMEs to promote their products internationally, the center explains that this participation represents a real help to the selected companies. “The latter will be able to benefit from visibility under the Tunisia banner in one of the biggest events in the agri-food sector, to present their products to a large professional audience and to generate new business opportunities”, specifies Cepex.

According to the same source, the selected companies will also benefit from a communication campaign before and during the event, support for prospecting the show and visits from potential buyers as well as a series of workshops prior to the event. ‘event.

It should be recalled that with 8,000 exhibitors and 170,000 qualified visitors from more than 200 countries, the “Anuga” trade fair in Cologne is the most important international trade fair for food. It takes place every two years and mobilizes all professionals in the sector. It brings together the global food industry in one place, with many relevant players for effective networking and high visibility.

Participation criteria

This space is reserved for labeled startups and/or SMEs who have never exhibited in the Tunisian pavilion of “Anuga” and also meet a certain number of criteria. First, the products offered by companies wishing to exhibit must be innovative. These products should highlight a traditional Tunisian commodity. According to Cepex, “this type of product can be a way of showing the innovative side of the company”. Companies wishing to take part in the event must have sufficient production capacity to meet potential import demands. They must also have carried out at least one export operation during the last two years, i.e. (2021-2022), have the necessary certifications to access the EU market and have an operational website.

It should also be noted that, for the choice of exhibitors for this space, the selection committee will take into consideration the originality and degree of innovation of the products to be exhibited. On the other hand, the Cepex ensures, moreover, that the company or the startup which meets the participation criteria and which is managed by a woman would have a bonus during the final selection. The selected company or startup should commit to ensuring that its representative at the show is fluent in English.
