However, there are foods that stomach cold patients can eat without feeling anxious, according to Dr. Helmy Al-Masry, a consultant of internal medicine and gastroenterology.

Foods suitable for stomach cold patients

Al-Masry said: “All food provided to a patient with stomach flu must be boiled, so that it is easy for him to digest it, without suffering any digestive disorders.”

The nutritionist warned a stomach cold patient once morest eating fatty foods, such as fried foods, foundries, and ready-made meals, because fats put great pressure on the digestive system, due to their need for a long time in digestion, which leads to abdominal pain and bloating.

He added that among fruits, bananas are considered one of the most useful and safe foods for patients with stomach flu, and the reason is due to its great ability to reduce vomiting and diarrhea.

He emphasized that toast plays a major role in controlling diarrhea associated with a cold stomach, as it contains dietary fiber, which helps make stool thicker.

He pointed out the importance of drinking plenty of water when suffering from a stomach cold, to replace the fluids and salts lost by the body due to diarrhea, and thus prevent dehydration.

Best drinks for stomach cold

In addition to water, Al-Masry recommended that stomach cold patients drink the following drinks, because they eliminate harmful bacteria, calm intestinal spasms and reduce fatigue.

Natural juices that are not sweetened with sugar.

– Gingerbread.

– Chamomile.

He concluded his speech by emphasizing the need to regularly take antibiotics prescribed by the doctor, to eliminate the bacterial infection that causes a cold in the stomach, because proper nutrition is useless without medical treatment.
