Following Israel’s aggression… Iraq receives 5,000 Lebanese in 10 days

Iraq – The Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced yesterday, Wednesday, the entry of about 5,000 Lebanese refugees within 10 days, as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression against their country.

Ministry spokesman Miqdad Miri said in a statement that Iraq received “nearly 5,000 Lebanese during the last 10 days through Baghdad and Najaf airports, and the Al-Qaim border crossing (with Syria).”

Merry stressed, “Continuing to extend the residency of Lebanese people in Iraq without the need to travel for a period of thirty days to extend again based on the provisions of the Residence Law (as is applicable), while continuing to grant free entry to Lebanese citizens.”

He stressed that “Lebanese can enter the country without an entry visa, through an entry stamp only, in accordance with previous directives.”

He stated that “this came in implementation of the directives of the Prime Minister (Mohamed Shiaa Al-Sudani) and the follow-up of the Minister of Interior (Abdul Amir Al-Shammari).”
