Follow the steps to obtain an electronic certificate of vaccination against yellow fever

Asunción, IP Agency.- The electronic certificate of vaccination against yellow fever can be requested via the internet. In the material we tell you all the steps to achieve certification.

The Ministry of Health answers the most frequently asked questions about the international electronic yellow fever vaccination certificate. First, enter HERE.

The electronic identity must be created. If you do not yet have an electronic identity, the steps to create one are explained in this portal.

With electronic identity, you can access various documents. In the “Health” section, the international electronic vaccination certificate is available, as well as the international electronic vaccination certificate for children. Both documents are issued free of charge through the portal.

Important: You can only download the certificate of the person who enters the website and that of the children, not those of other people.

At Migrations, you can present the electronic certificate or the printed international vaccination card. Both documents are valid.

The electronic certificate is available in two languages ​​(Spanish and English), it has a barcode and a QR code. Migrations can scan the QR code to confirm its validity, if necessary.

The international electronic vaccination certificate can be downloaded as many times as necessary, but the document is generated only once a day.

In this electronic document, there is separate information regarding vaccination against yellow fever, a mandatory dose to leave and enter the country, and the other recommended vaccines (anti-polio and measles).

For this information to be reflected in the electronic certificate, the data must be uploaded to the Electronic Vaccination Registry System (RVe).

Answer to some doubts

• If you do not have a vaccination certificate that confirms that you have already received the dose against yellow fever, is a medical certificate, signed and sealed by a doctor, stating the date and batch of the vaccine I received valid?

No, it is not valid. This certificate cannot be transcribed into the system or onto a printed card. Therefore, if you must travel and cannot prove with a vaccination card that you have received the dose against yellow fever, you must go to the nearest vaccination center ten days before the trip and get vaccinated against the disease to be protected. and access the international vaccination certificate.

• If you have the international certificate or any vaccination card showing that you received the yellow fever vaccine, but it does not appear on the Paraguay Portal, what should you do?

To generate the updated electronic certificate, the physical card must be taken to any vaccination center of the Ministry of Health or to a private service that uses the RVe (Sanatorio La Costa, Sanatorio Británico and Migone), so that they transcribe that information into the system and, once Updated information will be reflected in the digital certificate.

List of Vaccinations

• If you do not have a printed vaccination card, but when you enter the portal, the yellow fever vaccination information is generated, is it valid?

Yes, that means that it is in the RVe and is valid, even if you do not have the form.

• If you do not have any vaccination card, the information is not generated in the portal, and you cannot prove that you are vaccinated against yellow fever, and you want to travel, what should you do?

Go to the nearest vaccination center. When you get vaccinated, you register in the system and that will be reflected in the portal. You can also request the printed international certificate (it is delivered in district and regional hospitals and maternal and child centers, as well as in the regional vaccination center of the XVIII RS – Capital and in the private centers La Costa, Británico and Migone).

• Can electronic identity be created by anyone living in the country?

The electronic identity can be created by any Paraguayan or foreigner with a Paraguayan identity card, of legal age.

• If no child appears on the list on the portal, and you need to download the electronic certificate, what should be done?

A photo of the birth certificate of the child(ren) and the mother’s or father’s identity card (both sides) must be sent to the following email address: [e-mail], in order to associate the information about the children in the RVe system and the electronic identity of the father or mother. The information will be updated between 24 to 48 hours after placing the order by mail, with the attached documents.

• If you do not have the child’s birth certificate, what to do?

In the Paraguay Portal itself, you can download the birth certificate from the Civil Registry section (there is a cost, just as if you request it over the counter in physical format).

• If you have your children’s pediatric health record, which shows their vaccination, is it useful to request the international certificate?

With the pediatric health record containing the vaccination, it can be transcribed into the RVE system or request the printed international vaccination card. • Since what year have the records been digitized?

The yellow fever vaccination records for all of Paraguay have been digitalized (uploaded to the RVe System) since 2022.

In Asunción, (XVIII Health Region – Capital) they have been loaded since the second half of November 2018. Anyone who has been vaccinated or vaccinated their children at this vaccination center from that date onwards no longer needs to go to the vaccination center, since that the record is digitized.

If you are going on a trip there are 2 options, request the international vaccination card form or generate the electronic certificate, through the Paraguay Portal with the electronic identity.

• If you were vaccinated or your children were vaccinated before those dates, what should you do?

In case you have to travel and your data and those of your children are not digitized, you can take your vaccination card and those of your children to any vaccination center of the Ministry of Health or a private one that manages the RVe (La Costa, Británico and Migone), to upload the information to the system and, once updated, it will reflect in the digital certificate.
