The 2023 Cannes Film Festival: its dates, its poster and its jury
This year, the international film festival will take place from Tuesday May 16 to Saturday May 27, 2023; it will pay homage to the iconic and monument of French cinema: Catherine Deneuve.
We find the actress in black and white on the official poster of the event, produced by Hartland Villa and created from a photo of Jack Garofalo on the set of The chamade.
For this prestigious ceremony of the 7th art, it is Chiara Mastroianni who will be the mistress of the opening ceremonies and the Awards.
Ruben Östlund, Swedish filmmaker with two Palmes d’or, was chosen as president of the jury and succeeds actor Vincent Lindon. As for the rest of the members of the jury of this 76th ceremony, we will find director Maryam Touzani, actor Denis Ménochet, screenwriter and director Rugani Nyoni, actress Brie Larson, writer Atiq Rahimi, actor Paul Dano, directors Julia Ducournau and Damian Szifron.
The Festival will be opened by the film Jeanne du Barry by French director Maïwenn, which will notably mark the return of Johnny Depp to the big screen, perhaps even on the red carpet.
