Follow Game 6 between the Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat on RDS and RDS.ca

Attempting to force an ultimate game, the Boston Celtics took a slim 57-53 lead over the Miami Heat at halftime in Game 6 of the Eastern Finals.

The Heat capitalized on a 12-point surge in 2:32 to close the gap to just two points late in the second period.

Jayson Tatum took off in the second quarter, collecting a whopping 16 points in the final 14 minutes alone. He now has 25 points at halftime. He also became the youngest player to score 500 points in two consecutive playoff campaigns.

Jaylen Brown started the game with a bang, making five of his first six baskets in the first quarter. He has 11 points on the clock and six rebounds.

For Miami, Caleb Martin took advantage of his promotion to the Heat’s starters to register 12 points early in the game in addition to amassing nine rebounds.

The Heat stars, however, have a tough night. Jimmy Butler was limited to just nine points in the first half while Bam Adebayo saw his troubles continue, hitting just two of his seven shot attempts.

The Heat can join the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Finals with a win, while the Celtics want to make NBA history by becoming the first team to close a three-game deficit to zero

Pre-game notes

The Boston Celtics are just one game away from tying the Eastern Conference Finals once morest the Heat as they visit Miami for Game 6.

The Celtics have won the last two meetings and are trying to accomplish what has never been done in NBA history: win a series following losing the first three meetings. Only three teams have managed to tie a 3-3 series.

In the last game won 110-97, four Celtics starters scored more than 20 points. Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart and Derrick White will lead the charge for Boston tonight.

The Heat will return to Gabe Vincent for Game 6. The guard suffered a sprain in Game 4 and did not play the last game. Malcolm Brogdon will be missing for the Celtics with an arm injury.

Duncan Robinson had the most points (18) in Thursday’s loss. Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo meanwhile had 14 and 16 points respectively.

The winner of this series will go to the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Finals.
