Fog engulfs everything in Emirates, red and yellow alert issued – World

In the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, and Umm al-Quwain, among other areas, were engulfed in heavy fog. On the other hand, the authorities have issued red and yellow alert.

The Meteorological Department issued a fog alert in Al Falah, Sayh Shoaib, Razin, Al Ajban, Abu Al Bayad in Abu Dhabi and Al Khazna in Al Ain this morning.

Al Aweer, Warsan, Al Khawanij and Emirates Road in Dubai were also foggy this morning. Drivers are advised to drive slowly and carefully as the foggy weather conditions reduce visibility on the roads.

According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), the weather will be generally sunny and partly cloudy at times. The weather will remain humid overnight and into Tuesday morning with some coastal and inland areas likely to experience fog or mist.

The maximum temperature is expected to be between 33 and 38 degree Celsius in interior regions of the country. Temperatures will reach 31 to 35 degrees Celsius in coastal areas and islands and 23 to 28 degrees Celsius in the mountains.

Expect light to moderate winds from southeast to northeast at 10 to 20 gusts up to 30 km/h. The sea will remain relatively calm in the Arabian Gulf and Gulf of Oman.

**Interview with Meteorologist Sarah Al-Mansoori**

**Editor:** Thank you for joining us today, Sarah. We’ve seen reports of⁢ heavy fog engulfing several regions in the UAE, including Abu Dhabi and Dubai. What⁢ are the core reasons behind ‍such dense fog in ‍these areas?

**Sarah Al-Mansoori:** Thank you for having me. The dense fog can be attributed‌ to the high humidity levels combined ⁢with the clear skies during the⁢ night. When temperatures drop, moisture condenses into tiny water droplets, forming fog. Coastal areas are particularly‍ susceptible due to their proximity ⁢to the sea.

**Editor:** The authorities have issued red and yellow alerts due to this weather phenomenon. How effective do you think these alerts are in preventing accidents and ensuring ⁣public safety?

**Sarah Al-Mansoori:** Alert systems are‌ crucial for informing ⁤the public about potentially hazardous conditions. However, the effectiveness depends on ⁢how well people⁢ heed these warnings. It’s essential for⁤ drivers to adjust their behavior during such weather—slowing down and maintaining a safe distance⁢ is key.

**Editor:** Given the advice for drivers to be cautious, do you think enough is ⁢being done ‍to educate the public about safe driving in foggy conditions? What could ⁣improve this awareness?

**Sarah Al-Mansoori:** That’s an important point. While we see advisories, more targeted campaigns could raise awareness, especially through ⁤social media and local news outlets. Communities‍ must understand how to react in foggy conditions—perhaps even educational programs in schools could help.

**Editor:**⁣ Considering the predicted temperatures and general weather⁢ forecast, how likely are we ‍to see such foggy conditions recurring this season?

**Sarah Al-Mansoori:** With the transition into ⁤winter, we can expect similar conditions, especially in the early mornings and evenings when humidity peaks. Regular monitoring from the ⁣National Center⁢ of Meteorology will help keep the public informed.

**Editor:** what do you think the everyday citizen can do to stay informed and prepared for these unpredictable weather conditions?

**Sarah Al-Mansoori:** Staying connected to reliable weather‌ sources, like our National Meteorological Center, can provide timely updates. Using apps for real-time alerts and planning trips around weather predictions are sensible actions.

**Editor:** Thank you, Sarah, for ⁣your insights. Readers, given the recent‍ fog events and the authorities’ response, what do you think about the adequacy of public safety measures in the ⁢face of such weather? Are we doing enough to prevent accidents during foggy conditions, or is there more we could do as a⁤ community? Let’s hear your thoughts!
