Fodé Oussou Fofana to Guillaume Hawing: “He must admit his incapacity and resign…”

A few days following the start of the 2023-2024 school year, several parents are still struggling to send their children to school.

A situation which can be explained both by the difficult economic situation that the country is going through, but also by the lack of school infrastructure and the situation of contract teachers who are avoiding classrooms for non-payment of salary arrears.

Addressing the issue this Saturday, October 7, 2023 at the general assembly of the UFDG, the vice-president of this political group did not lack words to denounce this state of affairs.

“I feel sorry for Guinea, I am sad for my country. Children cannot go to school, parents cannot buy notebooks, people are forced to mobilize to buy whiteboards. I myself participated in paying money out of my own pocket to buy whiteboards for my hometown which is Kindia. Today there are no notebooks, no whiteboards, there is no school, no class, the teachers are almost on strike”.

Faced with this situation, the vice-president of the UFDG asks Guillaume Hawing, current minister of pre-university education, to resign.

“In a situation like this, the Minister of Pre-University Education should question himself and admit his incapacity to lead this ministry and simply hand in his letter of resignation to Colonel Doumbouya. This is the least he might do, when you are entrusted with a ministry and you realize that you are incapable of managing this ministry, you resign”.

Moreover, according to Fodé Oussou, Colonel Mamadi Doumbouya should dismiss several ministers from the government following the evaluation of the ministries last July.

“You can’t put a government in place for 2 years, you evaluate the performance of the government, you realize that there are mediocre people, people who don’t even know why they are ministers and you continue to keep them ”, concluded this UFDG executive.
