The Guinean singer, Fodé Fékangni Camara, was the victim of theft during the night from Sunday to Monday, November 20, 2023. He lost the contents of his sales store located in the Enco5 district, in the commune of Ratoma.
In a telephone interview that he gave to the editorial staff of Guinee360 this Tuesday, November 21, 2023, the author of the album ”Faut pas me localization” returned to the circumstances of the theft.
“I left the store on Saturday following locking it with a padlock that is connected to my phone. According to some neighbors, the noises might be heard when the roof was destroyed. This caught their attention but unfortunately they were unable to get out because the thieves had placed a padlock on their door to prevent them from leaving. It was a neighbor who called me on the phone to inform me. When I arrived I found nothing left in the store. They took away all the items and even the juices in the freezer.”
The artist says he got into business to avoid always “begging” to meet his needs. Today it is distributed at zero. “They put me on the ground. The items inside can be estimated at more than 100 million Guinean francs because I only sell valuable items. They also took away a sum of 10 million francs that I had kept in the store and a quantity of grams of gold from one of my relatives which amounted to a value of 1600 dollars which I sold to a person who had already paid 800 dollars.
Dejected by this situation, the Guinean artist launches an appeal to the authorities and people of good will: “Before I avoided 2000 GNF notes on stage but now even 1000 I will take because I am in the boat of poverty now. I think I’m going to start begging once more, which is why I’m calling on Colonel Mamadi Doumbouya, the women, my artist friends and all people of good will to come and help me.
