“World Cafe / Sense of Place”: This is the motto under which the US radio station NPR scouts musical talents all over the world. That ran the US independent radio giant’s World Cafe Show NPR recently to Vienna, and later to us, to FM4, as a contact point for and amplifier of local music with international appeal.
The place where FM4 the creators of the show NPR World Cafe welcomes, is the ORF Session Studio in Vienna’s Funkhaus, the studio that has already hosted numerous magical and exclusive FM4 sessions with Austrian and international bands have arisen.
In the audience were a few regular NPR listeners who had traveled there, FM4 listeners who won tickets to sessions on the FM4 Morning Show, the host of NPR’s World Cafe: Raina Douris and of course the band: sharktank!
The wonderfully soulful, funky, pop trio of Marco Kleebauer, Katrin Paucz and rapper Mile has thrown on their most beautiful stage outfits and performed in a slightly expanded live band constellation. Her almost flawless session also wowed NPR World Cafe’s Raina Douris: „They have a really unique sound. I love how everybody does something totally different and it comes into this cohesive whole. They’re just so much fun to watch.”

Marco Kleebauer regarding the live session: “It’s a setting where maybe people can pay a little more attention to detail, like a show where it’s dark. You can see a little bit more what everyone is doing. That’s the cool thing regarding that.”
