When drawing up these recos, given the absence of a working/reading group, HAS set up a public consultationthe results of which are also published.
Pediatric learned societies welcome this decisionwhich should relieve pediatric services, while Sanofi advocates that children can be vaccinated from 6 months instead of 2 years (according to the HAS, “ the integration of this vaccination in the vaccination schedule for children under 2 years of age raises questions of acceptability and the data available in this age group remain limited and do not allow to conclude on the expected benefits »).
The CEMKA (a health research firm) has a more mixed opinion: what will be the acceptability of this recognition in France? Since the vaccination coverage of the French is low, shouldn’t we rather put in place measures to improve the vaccination of people with risk factors, and above all children at risk of severe form, who are very little vaccinated? It would be interesting to know the opinion of general practitioners, who did not respond to this public consultation, but who will be the first vaccinators (pharmacists can only vaccinate those over 16).
To be continued in the next 2023-24 campaign…
