Bolzano – From Wednesday, October 12, 2022, it will again be possible to be vaccinated against influenza in South Tyrol. The risk groups have priority. It is recommended to take the corona vaccination (booster) and the flu vaccination at the same time.
The term “twindemic” – meaning the simultaneous occurrence of two endemic diseases – is currently making the rounds. As data from Australia shows, it is actually possible that not only a corona winter wave is rolling towards us, but also a strong flu wave at the same time. Vaccination is therefore still extremely important – be it against Corona or against the flu. Because a double infection could be fatal, especially for members of risk groups.
From Wednesday, October 12, 2022, the 2022/23 flu vaccination campaign of the South Tyrolean medical company will start – initially for risk groups. These include:
– Persons over 60 years of age
– Particularly vulnerable people (e.g. “ultrafragili”, chronically ill) over 18 years of age who are at high risk of complicationsHealthcare workers
– Pregnant women
– Members of the law enforcement and security services
All of these groups of people can make a reservation for the corona vaccination and also receive the flu vaccination at the vaccination appointment. The latter also applies to people who have already registered for the corona vaccination.
Anyone who would like to have the flu vaccination administered to themselves must register by telephone at the Single Registration Office for Prevention (Tel. +39 0472 973 850, Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.). Start of the reservation: tomorrow, October 11, 2022, 3 p.m.
Children between the ages of six months and six years receive their influenza vaccination from the responsible hygiene services – also after prior notification to the uniform state pre-registration office for prevention – Tel. +39 0472 973 850, Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The flu vaccination will also start shortly for general practitioners and basic pediatricians. From Thursday, October 13, 2022, they can get the vaccine from pharmacies and vaccinate their patients with it from Friday.
From November 2, 2022, it will then be possible for all age groups and groups of people to have the flu vaccination administered without restrictions.
Ideally, the opportunity should be taken to get both vaccinations. So: make a note of the date for the corona vaccination (booster) via https://sanibook.sabes.it/ and then have the flu vaccination administered at the vaccination appointment at the same time. This year, too, the flu vaccination is free for everyone.
