Florida’s Victor Montalvo takes bronze in men’s breaking at Paris Olympics – NBC 6 South Florida

Kissimmee’s own Victor Montalvo battled for the bronze in breaking’s Olympic debut on Saturday, and his performance won him the medal.

The 30-year-old, whose nickname is “B-boy Victor,” was eliminated in the semifinals 2-1 to France’s Dany Dann. He took on Japan’s Shigekix to clinch the third spot on the podium.

Montalvo was the gold-medal favorite after winning the 2023 World Championship and the World Games 2022.

Breaking, more commonly known as breakdancing, made its grand debut as an Olympic sport in Paris on Friday, when Japan’s Ami won the first ever gold in the women’s competition.
