Florida teacher expelled for taunting her Muslim students while praying

A teacher from a charter school Pembroke Pinesin Broward County (Florida), was expelled Thursday following appearing in a video interrupting some muslim students during the time of prayer.

The school teacher Franklin Academywhose identity was not disclosed, is supposedly the person who appears in a video that has gone viral where some muslim boys praying in Arabic on some rugs and to her say: “Wait, this is my office and all of you are doing magic?”.

The same teacher, whose legs are only visible, appears later stepping on the mats and near the hands of one of the boys who practiced his Islamic prayers.

The video posted on Wednesday on the Tik Tok social network went viral and has reached five million viewsaccording to the Local 10 News channel this Friday.

wilfredo ruizof the Council on American and Islamic Relations, told the aforementioned channel that the video is “repulsive“and that the teacher’s actions were a clear case of bullying.

Although the US Supreme Court has ruled that public schools they cannot perform official prayersstudent prayer that does not interrupt instructional time is protected by the First Amendment.

The management of the school published a statement yesterday informing of theto expulsion from the teacher.

“While we do not discuss personnel matters, We can share with you that the teacher in question is no longer a staff member at Franklin Academy.“, indicated the school, to add that the center “does not tolerate the discriminatory behavior“.
