Florida TCA Program Payment Dates for September

The September TCA (Temporary Cash Assistance) program payments are already scheduled. The aid plan is intended to support families with children under 18 years of age, or under 19. The latter case refers to full-time high school students.

Since its inception, the program is designed for those who meet specific technical, income and asset requirements. The TCA is, in fact, a lifeline for families seeking self-sufficiency while also seeking to ensure that their children can remain in their own homes during difficult times.

If you didn’t know, find out now that pregnant women may also qualify for TCA assistance. This will be possible if they are in their third trimester and unable to work, or during their ninth month of pregnancy.

TCA Eligibility Requirements

One of the most important requirements is the time limit. TCA reminds that cash assistance is limited to a total of 48 months, for life, for adults. However, there is an exception for “child-only” cases, which have no time limit.

Income and asset limits are another key aspect of eligibility criteria. For example, to qualify for TCA, gross income must be less than 185% of the federal poverty level. Meanwhile, countable income cannot exceed the payment standard based on family size.

Individuals can deduct $90.00 USD from their gross earned income. This can provide some wiggle room in tight budgets. As for assets, families should ensure that their countable assets remain at $2000 USD or less.

For those subject to work requirements, licensed vehicles cannot exceed a combined value of $8,500 USD. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or qualified non-citizens and must reside in the state of Florida.
