Florida Panthers Sign Goaltender Ludovic Waeber: Expert Analysis & Contract Details

The general manager of the Florida Panthers, Bill Zitoannounced today that the club had agreed with the Friborg goalkeeper Ludovic Waeber on a one-year contract from the 2023/24 season. Waeber, 26, appeared in 19 games for the Swiss National League’s ZSC Lions in 2022/23, posting two shutouts, a 0.914 save percentage and a 2.50 goals- once morest average.

Waeber took part in 115 National League games between Fribourg-Gottéron (2012/13 and 2017/18 to 2019/20) and ZSC Lions (2020/21 to 2022/23). In the 2020/21 campaign, his .918 save percentage ranked fourth among National League goaltenders to have played at least 35 games. In 19 National League postseason games, he has a .935 save percentage.

Undrafted, Waeber represented Switzerland at the IIHF World Junior Championships in 2016, 2015 and 2013 (U18). He also has four selections in the A team.
