Welcome to the Bizarre World of Aqua Movies!
By: The Sharp Observational Team
In an audacious move that could only be described as “cinema with a splash,” the good people of Fürstenfeldbruck turned their local swimming pool into a veritable floating film set. Imagine, if you will, watching “Despicable Me” bobbing around on inflatable islands—now that’s a cinematic experience!
The Great Aqua Movie Experiment
The Amperoase swimming pool has added a novel twist to weekend entertainment: instead of lounging in an armchair, patrons are watching films while precariously balancing on inflatable islands. Talk about taking your film experience to a whole new level—literally! But alas, with the renovation dreams drowned in a sea of red ink, this aquatic cinema concept was as refreshing as a dip in a pool on a hot summer day—at least until the adults showed up.
In what can only be described as a “full house” of kiddos, over 200 children splashed around in delight during the afternoon screening, but the evening event was as desolate as a comedian’s open mic night. Twelve adults perched on their islands to catch a comedy film—where were these adults? Perhaps taking notes from the children, or maybe they mistook “And Then Came Dad” for “The Great Escape.”
Marketing Woes
And what’s the deal with adult attendance? According to disillusioned visitors Silvia and Dieter, they only heard about the evening screening through Facebook. It’s almost like they were hoping for word of mouth but ended up with whispers in a cavernous void. Would you turn up at a swimming pool at night for a comedy without knowing how submerged in awkwardness you’d be? I’d sooner swim with piranhas!
Look, if you want to reel in the grown-ups, forget candlelight romance—broadcast the national soccer team’s game! It’s the silent truth: nothing brings folks together like the sweet sound of rage emanating from their throats as their chosen team misses an easy shot.
Hot Water & Future Plans
But hey, let’s give credit where it’s due. The aquatic excursion did see a bright side: 33 degrees water temperature! I’d be there too if I could swim while feeling like I was in the world’s biggest hot tub! And it goes without saying that there’s potential for future events; we may even see “Aqua Movie 2: The Return of the Floating Flicks.”
According to Monika Lidmila, who I assume oversees the madness with all the grace of a synchronized swimmer, they are evaluating the public response before deciding whether to greenlight a sequel in this watery saga. And let’s not forget about the sauna nights—the next one is Christmas-themed. I can practically smell the peppermint schnapps mingling with sauna sweat already!
The Concluding Splash
In conclusion, if you find yourself in Fürstenfeldbruck with some spare time, don’t miss the potential of resurrecting these quirky events. Who wouldn’t want to watch films soaking wet while trying not to spill their popcorn? But let’s hope they market it better next time—because as any astute observer will tell you, it’s a bit like trying to sell ice to an Eskimo in summer. If they can figure that out, we might just be witnessing a new wave of aquatic cinema—a euphoric splash for all, minus the awkward thermodynamics of floating and flopping!
Until next time, keep your movie snacks dry!

Cinema with a twist: Visitors to the Amperoase experienced an innovative cinematic adventure on floating islands, transforming the traditional movie-watching experience into a unique aquatic event.
Fürstenfeldbruck – In a remarkable first for the Amperoase, which has entertained locals for half a century, a vibrant cinema screening was held in the water venue. Families enjoyed an afternoon packed with excitement for children, followed by a screening of a film aimed at older audiences as evening fell.
Due to budget constraints preventing renovation or a new construction of the indoor swimming facility, officials are exploring creative ways to revitalize the Amperoase. Municipal utility spokesperson Monika Lidmila stated, “We will see how the two events are received. We will then decide whether there will be such follow-up events.”
Full pool in the afternoon
The afternoon event turned out to be a resounding success, with over 200 children diving into the “Aqua Movie” experience from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. The dedicated staff from Amperoase and H2O-Fun-Events provided a lively and engaging program, allowing children the opportunity to play and enjoy the water before the film commenced. Among three potential films, “Despicable Me” won the audience’s favor. Maximilian Knobling from Bruck, attending with his daughter, voiced his enthusiasm, stating, “The Amperoase should organize an event like this more often,” expressing a notable lack of entertainment options for children in Bruck.
However, the anticipated evening screening did not attract the same excitement. When the comedy film “And Then Came Dad” began at 8:15 p.m., just twelve individuals opted to settle on the bath islands set up in the pool, leaving the management far from satisfied with the turnout.
Little response from adults
A lack of sufficient promotion for the film evening was noted by attendees Silvia and Dieter from Emmering, who discovered the event through social media. “We attended a romantic event last year,” they reminisced, emphasizing that they wished for a similar occasion to return.
This previous event featured enchanting candlelight, soothing music, and delightful cocktails, yet Lucas Schacherl, the indoor pool team leader, acknowledged that their efforts were not reciprocated with interest from the community. “Ultimately, however, the effort wasn’t worth it,” he concluded.
Reflecting on alternative engaging ideas, Maria and Wolfgang from Bruck suggested, “Perhaps they should have broadcast the German national team’s soccer game,” while enjoying the afternoon session with their two sons, ages eight and thirteen. The family appreciated the warmer water, which the management had elevated to a comfortable 33 degrees for the special event.
Discussions about the potential return of the “Aqua Movie” are currently underway, alongside considerations for other attractive events planned at the Amperoase. Monika Lidmila confirmed ongoing special promotions, including the widely anticipated sauna night on the first Friday of every month, with the next gathering set to embrace a festive Christmas theme on December 6th.
How can the Amperoase improve its marketing strategy to attract more adults to future Aqua Movies screenings?
**Interviewer:** Welcome, Monika Lidmila, spokesperson for the Amperoase, and thank you for joining us today. Your team recently tried something completely unique with the Aqua Movies. Can you tell us what inspired this innovative concept?
**Monika Lidmila:** Thank you for having me! We wanted to find a fresh way to bring people to the Amperoase and offer something exciting. With budget constraints, we needed to get creative. The idea of watching films on inflatable islands in the pool seemed like a fun twist that could appeal to families and adults alike.
**Interviewer:** The daytime screening for kids was a huge success, with over 200 children attending! What do you think made it such a popular event?
**Monika Lidmila:** Absolutely, it was fantastic to see so many children enjoying the experience! I believe the combination of water play, the engaging program we organized, and the screening of a beloved film like *Despicable Me* created an exciting atmosphere. It was a safe space for kids to play and then relax as a family while watching the movie.
**Interviewer:** However, the evening screening for adults didn’t quite hit the mark with only twelve attendees. What do you think went wrong?
**Monika Lidmila:** It’s certainly something we’re reflecting on. We heard from some visitors that they found out about the event too late or through limited channels, like Facebook. We clearly need to improve our marketing strategy to reach adults who might be curious about this novel experience. It’s tough to get them into a pool for a comedy night without the right promotion!
**Interviewer:** If you could make changes for the next Aqua Movie event, what would they be?
**Monika Lidmila:** First and foremost, we’ll work to enhance our marketing reach. We also want to consider selecting films that have broader appeal for adults. Perhaps including live sports screenings or different genres could draw more interest. And of course, we’d love to ensure the experience remains fun without losing that captivating aquatic element.
**Interviewer:** And with the water temperature hitting a cozy 33 degrees, it sounds quite inviting! So, what’s next for the Aqua Movies initiative?
**Monika Lidmila:** We’re closely monitoring feedback and attendance from both the children’s and adult screenings, and then we’ll decide whether to plan future events. We hope to bring back a sequel with exciting new films and maybe even a Christmas-themed sauna night! So stay tuned!
**Interviewer:** That does sound intriguing! Thank you, Monika, for sharing your insights on this fresh take on cinema. Here’s to hoping for the success of the Aqua Movies in the future!
**Monika Lidmila:** Thank you for having me! We’re excited about the possibilities ahead and can’t wait to see everyone back at the Amperoase.
