Unipac announces launch of Float in partnership with KWPar Group

Unipac, a Jacto Group company, announces the launch of the Hydrelio® plastic float in partnership with the KWPar Group. These plastic structures, whose intellectual property belongs to the French company Ciel & Terre International, are manufactured using cutting-edge technology and are designed to support photovoltaic panels on the water surface, promoting the generation of clean and renewable energy.

The partnership aims to promote the development of floating solar energy in Brazil, such as the largest Floating Photovoltaic Plant (UFF Araucária), located at the Billings Reservoir, in São Paulo

Gabriel Gonçalves, President of Unipac, states that “this initiative reinforces our commitment to sustainability and our search for innovative solutions that positively impact the environment and society. We are excited regarding this new product and the strategic partnership with Ciel & Terre International and the KWPar Group.”

Sustainable partnerships

The launch of Flotuador, in partnership with the KWPar Group, represents a significant step towards a more sustainable future. The KWPar Group is responsible for the engineering, customization and installation of this technology in Brazil, including the Floating Photovoltaic Plant (UFF Araucária), recently inaugurated at the Billings Reservoir, in São Paulo, designed by EMAE (Empresa Metropolitana de Águas e Energia) and the Government from Sao Paulo. Ediléu Cardoso Jr., CEO of the KWPar Group, highlights the careful selection of Unipac as a partner, highlighting its seriousness, technical capacity and transparency.

In turn, Ciel & Terre, a global leader in the implementation of floating solar plants, has held the patented technology as Hydrelio® since 2011, with installations all over the world. Unipac, as a licensed national manufacturer of the Float product, is prepared to explore new horizons in the field of sustainability and innovation, together with these partners.

The float is a sustainable innovation and practical applications

The Hydrelio® plastic float represents an innovative solution in the field of renewable energy, being specially designed to support photovoltaic panels on water depths, such as reservoirs, lakes and dams. Furthermore, they have applications in various sectors, including energy, sanitation and agribusiness, and can be installed, for example, in irrigation dams on farms.

Each project relies on the expertise of the KWPAr Group. In Brazil, the technology has already been implemented in several projects, including Fazenda Figueiredo in 2018, the pilot project at UHE Sobradinho/BA in 2019, and a pilot project at EMAE, which culminated in the implementation of UFF Araucária in 2024, demonstrating the commitment with the adoption of sustainable practices and the diversification of its energy sources.

KWPar Group Profile

The KWPar Group is made up of Brazilian companies dedicated to the development and implementation of sustainable renewable energy projects, with a special focus on floating and ground-based solar plants, with an exclusive license to produce and sell Ciel et Terre Hydrelio floats in Brazil.
