From May 22 to June 5, many European travelers will go to Porte d’Auteuil in Paris to watch the matches of the best tennis players at Roland Garros. The online travel agency Opodo took an interest in travel trends over this period.
First observation, Opodo recorded 17% more flight reservations over the Roland Garros period (from May 22 to June 5) compared to the 2022 edition (from May 22 to June 5). Similarly, 47% of travelers booked their trip between 31 and 60 days before the tournament (36% more than 61 days). More than half of tennis fans (53%) are planning a 3 to 4 day stay in the capital to experience the event. 19% will stay two days in Paris.
At the top of the nationalities who book flights to Paris during the tournament period, we find the Spaniards (16%) who came to support the famous Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz, followed by the Italians (14%) for Jannik Sinner, the Germans (10% ) for Alexander Zverez, the Portuguese (9%) then the English (4%) tied with the Austrians and the Danes.
