More than a thousand people died in a powerful earthquake which struck Morocco overnight from Friday to Saturday, near the tourist city of Marrakech, according to a provisional official report released on Saturday at midday.
Air France has put in place “commercial measures” for its customers
For its part, the Air France company indicated on Saturday that “commercial measures” were in place for its customers with a flight planned from or to Morocco “in the coming days”, allowing them to modify or postpone the trip “free of charge” .
It indicated that all of its flights to and from Morocco (Marrakech, Casablanca and Rabat) “are operating normally”.
“In conjunction with the French and Moroccan authorities, Air France will study the need to add additional flights or to use larger capacity aircraft on its routes between France and Morocco in the days to come,” added the company.
Customers currently staying in Marrakech hotels have not suffered “to our knowledge, any damage,” said Seto, which brings together around 70 of the largest French tour operators.
It specifies that “all hotel and tourist infrastructure is operational”, but that “excursion arrangements” might be put in place if necessary.
