Flagship under $700 – prices for AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT are falling

Several versions of the AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT graphics card in US retail were 30% cheaper than the recommended retail price. On the pages of the online store Newegg this model by Gigabyte and ASRock is seen at a price of $699, reports Tom’s Hardware. The price reduction primarily affected the basic versions of the video card – there were also more expensive options, especially with highly efficient air or liquid cooling.

When the Radeon RX 6900 XT model was officially presented, there was no hope of being able to buy it at a suggested retail price of $ 999 – then the boom in cryptocurrency mining was in full swing. Now the situation has changed dramatically: the Gigabyte Gaming OC and ASRock Phantom Gaming D versions are sold for $699. MSI Gaming turned out to be a little more expensive – $729. In all cases, these are video cards with three basic coolers.

Watching the price dynamics of the RX 6900 XT in 2022 was interesting. In May, the appearance of a video card in retail at the recommended retail price was perceived as a boon. In June on a special sale with a promo code and a discount card it might be buy it for $720. Today, three commodity items were within $730.

By the way, the products of the NVIDIA camp are also getting cheaper – a week ago, the flagship GeForce RTX 3090 by EVGA lost in value immediately $1000. This generosity of the premium manufacturer is likely due to the desire to thoroughly prepare for the upcoming announcement of the GeForce RTX 40 series.
