When Jude Bellingham switched from Borussia Dortmund to Real Madrid, the last contract details have now been clarified and confirmed by the clubs. BVB will receive 103 million euros as a fixed fee for the midfielder and will also receive bonus payments for the English national footballer up to a maximum total of around 30 percent of the fixed amount.
The 19-year-old will be officially presented in Madrid on Thursday followingnoon.
Bellingham has received a contract with the top Spanish club until 2029. BVB announced on Wednesday that the performance-related variables will extend over a period of six years – until 2029.
BVB boss Watzke: “It was a fantastic time.”
The listed Bundesliga club had already informed in an ad hoc announcement last week regarding the change of the professional, who was actually tied until 2025. BVB boss Hans-Joachim Watzke said on Wednesday: “We thank Jude for three years of passion for Borussia Dortmund. It was a fantastic time together.”
Young Bellingham quickly developed into an achiever
Bellingham himself, who switched from English second division club Birmingham City to Dortmund in the summer of 2020 at the age of just 17 and has developed into a top performer in his 132 appearances (24 goals), said in farewell: “It was an honour, so often your To wear a jersey, in big moments and in small moments.”
Borussia Dortmund can use the transfer millions well
The transfer fee, which might ideally rise to up to 135 million, comes in handy for Dortmund following a season of missed opportunities. The club is planning a squad reshuffle. BVB boss Watzke announced some time ago “that we will reinvest around 60 to 65 percent of the transfer fees that we achieve in this period.”
