Fix: Beganovic follows Malic from Ried to Sturm Graz

Belmin Beganovic is making a career leap: The 19-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the champions. “If you get the chance to move to one of the best clubs in Austria, you don’t have to think twice,” said Beganovic.

The OÖN had already reported at the beginning of July that Graz was specifically interested in the winger. He follows Arjan Malic, who had previously moved from Ried to the Champions League participant. Sturm used the exit clause in the Ried contract for the Slovenian U19 team player. Malic worked hard with the pros during the pre-season and has so far played for the second team in the 2nd league.

There was no clause for Beganovic. The clubs had to agree on a transfer fee. “With the transfer fee, we will get replacements, but also provide other academy players with prospective contracts,” said Ried’s sports director Wolfgang Fiala.
