Five Swiss win NHL points

Five Swiss entered their names on the scoreboard overnight from Thursday to Friday, while ten matches were on the NHL championship calendar.

At KeyBank Center in Buffalo, where San Jose beat the Sabers (2-3), Timo Meier (25) scored his 14th goal since the start of the 2021-22 regular season. The Sharks’ Appenzell right-wing defeated Finnish goalkeeper Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen with a shot that was as long as it was precise and allowed the Californian team to lead 0-2 in the 14th minute.

The No 28 has amassed ten personal points in his last eight starts.

Josi is on fire

At Crypo.com Arena in Los Angeles, Roman Josi (31) contributed to Nashville’s success once morest the Kings (2-4). The Bernese defender was involved in the Predators’ first two successes, providing assists to Swede Filip Forsberg and Ontario’s Matt Duchene on the power play.

The captain of the Tennessee club has a record of 32 points, including 11 goals, in 33 games. A production that places him third among all full backs in the North American professional league behind Tampa Bay Swede Victor Hedman (37) and NY Rangers American Adam Fox (35).

At the TD Garden in Boston, following a heated duel won 2-3 by Minnesota once morest the Bruins (50 penalty minutes), Kevin Fiala (25) collected an assist. The left-winger St. Welsh was behind the 1-1 attributed to Kirill Kaprizov. Star player of the Wild, the Russian did not finish the match. He was injured following a charge that earned American center Trent Frederic a major penalty.
