The European Commission has granted new funds as part of its initiative for higher education. Seven transnational alliances have received support, Brussels announced on Monday. Five Swiss universities and colleges are taking part.
According to the European Commission, the seven alliances receive “up to 14.4 million euros for four years”, bringing the total number of alliances to 50, bringing together 430 universities and colleges from 35 countries.
On the Swiss side, the two federal polytechnic schools of Zurich (EPFZ) and Lausanne (EPFL), the University of Bern as well as the University of Applied Sciences of Western Switzerland (HES-SO) and the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) participate in one of the seven alliances.
