Five people shot dead in US residence in Maryland – Xinhua English.news.cn

WASHINGTON, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) — Two adults and three children were found dead Friday at a residence in Elk Mills in the U.S. state of Maryland.

The Cecil County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that a man called emergency services in the morning to report that three children and a woman had been shot.

The police arrived at the Hebron Court residence and observed the presence of an inanimate body inside the adjacent garage. They entered the accommodation where they finally discovered five dead bodies in various places both on site and in the garage, he said.

“All of the deceased appeared to have sustained gunshot wounds,” the statement said. “A semi-automatic handgun was located near the deceased adult male.”

“This is a tragic and terrible day for our county and our community,” Cecil County Sheriff Scott Adams told reporters Friday followingnoon.

Officers are currently at the scene conducting an investigation. End
